Communications minister Dr. Edward Omane Boamah has descended heavily on Professor Stephen Adei over his claim that President John Mahama is stashing the public service with Northerners.
The former GIMPA Rector at a lecture in Accra accused the President of appointing too many of his regional folks in the public service.
“One of the things going on which is totally unacceptable is why one out of every four public sector appointment comes from the President’s area of origin.
“That is totally unacceptable because we are a unified country, we are a country whereby if you take any major group, whether Gas, Ashantis or Ewes you can form a cabinet from it,” Prof. Adei told the gathering.
Commenting on the matter, the acting Presidential spokesman told GHonetv.com that the claim by the academician lacks basis.
“My name is Omane Boamah and I am Minister for Communications, the President’s Chief of Staff is called Julius Debrah, Minister for Education is Jane Nana Opoku Agyemang. Prof Adei should just learn to speak like a responsible adult that’s all”.
