After a successful campaign in the home region of his main challenger, President John Dramani Mahama is beginning a campaign tour of the stronghold of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
President Mahama kick-starts his campaign of the Ashanti Region on Saturday, November 5 at New Edubiase, where a durbar of chiefs and elders will be held in his honour.
He is also expected to later address a mini-rally at Adansi, Obuasi and Bekwai.
On Sunday, a statement from the regional secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) said, the party’s leader will engage in a keep fit exercise in Asawase, where he will also address a mini-rally.
A durbar of chiefs and elders will also be held at Akomadan in Offinso North Constituency, and mini-rallies scheduled to be held at Boaman (Afigya Kwabre North), Abusua (Afigya Kwabre East) and Abofour.
President Mahama will commission the Asokore Mampong community day senior high school to start his day on Monday, November 7.
He will make a whistle stop at Moshie Zongo before addressing a durbar at Tepa. Mini-rallies will also be held to cap Day 3, which will be exactly a month to the elections.
The final day will see President Mahama cutting sod for the Kumasi Airport expansion programme and inauguration of Phase 1 of the Kejetia New Market.
He will wrap up his tour with a rally at Agogo.
