Ghana’s President John Dramani Mahama has congratulated the president-elect of the United States of America, Donald Trump.
Donald Trump won Tuesday’s election to become the 45th US president after a stunning victory over Democrat Hillary Clinton.
Mrs. Clinton who was tipped by many polls to win the election called Trump to congratulate him.
“I just received a call from Secretary Clinton. She congratulated us on our victory…Hillary has worked very long and very hard over a long period of time, and we owe her a major debt of gratitude for her service to our country…It is time for us to come together as one united people,” Donald Trump said in his victory speech.
Ghana’s president who is seeking a second term in office joined several leaders across the world who have been sending their congratulatory messages to the president-elect.
