President John Mahama has appointed COP John Kudalor as acting Inspector General of Police.
Current IGP, Mohammed Alhassan, begins his accumulated leave prior to retirement.
The President, as per the Constitution, appoints the IGP in consultation with the Vice President who chairs the Police Council.
Mohammed Alhassan has been occupying the position for two years now.
He took over from former IGP, Paul Tawiah Quaye in 2013.
Mr. Felix Sarpong, Deputy Director Operations of the Ghana Immigration Service has also been appointed to act as Director of Immigration.
