Ghana’s new President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be in Kumasi today, Wednesday December 14. This visit follows the President-elect’s meeting with Greater Accra Regional Chiefs after which he left Accra on Tuesday.
Akufo-Addo’s visit to the Ashanti regional capital is his first after winning the 2016 presidential election. He is expected to meet with the Asanteman Council, party leaders, the clergy and some traders at the Kumasi Central Market. He is expected to be back to Accra on Thursday December 15.
As Nana Addo storms Kumasi, residents have urged him to ensure that he brings unity to the people and to also fulfil his promises to the campaign promises he made to Ghanaians.
Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who contested in the December 7 presidential elections came out victorious with 53.85% of votes; beating 5 other presidential aspirants as well as his closest contender, incumbent President John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) who polled 44.40%.
