President Akufo-Addo has presented an outlook of the state as he took over to the Ghanaian people in his State of the Nation Address in Parliament on Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
This was the first time he delivered the State after his investiture on 7th January, 2017.
The President gave accounts of various sectors including economy, education, agriculture and health as inherited from the John Mahama-led administration and also outlined his vision for the development of the country for the next fiscal year.
In a relatively short address in Parliament, the president commenced by recounting his experience as a three term member of parliament having sat on both sides of the house.
He reiterated his government’s commitment to reducing the public debt stock, introducing the free Senior High School initiative, ensuring the growth of the agricultural sector and transforming the country into an industrialised state.
He also emphasised the completion of some projects by the end of year 2017.
He expressed his desire to corporate with all state institutions to ensure the development of the country and to establish Ghana as an example to the continent and world at large.
