The flagbearer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Nana Akufo-Addo, has asked Ghanaians to pray for the Electoral Commission “such that God will give them wisdom and the confidence to carry out a free, fair and transparent elections come December 7.”
Nana Addo was speaking at the Gaddiel Acquah Methodist Church in Tarkwa as part of his five-day visit to the Western Region.
“We need peace in Ghana before, during and after the December polls. If God is on our side, we will go through this election peacefully. So pray first for the Electoral Commission such that God will give them the wisdom and the confidence to give us a free, fair and transparent elections come December 7…that the result they will declare will be accepted by all. They are a key stakeholder in ensuring that there is peace in Ghana,” he said.
Pray for me, the NPP
He further urged Ghanaians to pray for him and the NPP.
“Pray for the NPP and pray for me for God to grant me the wisdom, patience and understanding to guide me in whatever I do such that I can lead this country to the prosperity of all when given the nod in the December polls.”
Nana Addo then asked Ghanaians especially the electorate in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency, to vote for the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, George Mireku Duker and the NPP in the December 7 polls.
