President Nana Addo’s victory in the 2016 elections has been a remarkable one attracting compliments and comments from across the globe. The win has interested prominent persons from around the world from different perspectives.
While some are admiring his perseverance, having vied for the post for three consecutive times, others are simply hailing his predecessor, former president John Mahama for the free and fair election conducted, as well as the very smooth and peaceful transition of powers which hardly characterize the defeat of an incumbent.
The incident is also seen as remarkable since it took place when the need for the practice of true democracy is on a high scale in the African continent; especially while considering what is happening in some other African countries – withe the Gambia serving as a typical example.
