The Deputy General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mohammed Haruna, has been dismissed.
A letter signed by the Flagbearer of the PNC, Edward Nasigiri, said Mohammed Haruna falsely accused the National Treasurer, Mr. Akane Adams, of allegedly stealing “party money without recourse to the leadership of the party.”
Mr. Nasigiri said the act by Mr. Haruna “embarrassed” him as a leader of the National Executive Committee (NEC), and members of the PNC.
The embattled PNC official was also accused of alleging that Dr. Mahama had used the party’s money to buy Treasury Bills.
Citing the Standing Orders of the party, the PNC 2016 Presidential Candidate said, no “individual executive can transfer party cash without a counter signature of either the Leader, Chairman, General Secretary or National Treasurer.”
Mr. Nasigiri further asked the general public to treat such reports with the contempt that it deserves, saying “I emphatically wish to state that, Dr. Edward Nasigiri Mahama has no Treasury bill in my name anywhere in the world. I ask fellow Ghanaians and the rank and file of the PNC to treat the ill-intended fabricated story with the contempt it deserves.”
