Concerned Farmers Association of Ghana (CFAG) is pleading with President Akufo-Addo to generously donate his end of January salary to the association to carry out borehole projects during this Harmattan season.
According to the president of the Association, Nana Opambour Oboade Osei Bonsu, if as a Minister of State and Member of Parliament, Nana Addo could refuse to take per diem as he deemed it drained the tax payer, then he believes he can also donate his salary for the cause.
“Nana Addo Dankwa didn’t take his daily allowance sometime in his political tenure as minister of state and Member of Parliament. With that, we beg him to donate his pay this January to CFAG to dig up boreholes for the farming communities so that those who don’t get water to drink this Harmattan season can.
“Regardless, we know his promises of digging of boreholes and others but we are keen on his January salary so that we can execute our plans quickly. We believe in him” he stated.
Nana Opambour whiles speaking on Saturday’s Agricultural forum on Rite FM earlier, urged President Akufo-Addo to appoint a dynamic minister for the Agricultural sector.
He indicated that, the Minister for Agriculture must be reliable, dedicated and someone who understands the sector.
Nana Opambour further urged the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia government to make agriculture very attractive in the country.
