Political parties are expected to chart the way forward for a peaceful election
The High level meeting which was expected to chart the way forward for a peaceful election has been postponed.
The country’s political and traditional leaders were to
dialogue and adopt strategies that will promote peace before, during and after the December elections.
But the Second High Level meeting being organised by the National House of Chief, the Institute of Democratic Governance and the National Peace Council has been rescheduled.
A statement signed by Peace Council chair Most Rev. Prof. Emmanuel Asante said the move was as a result of a clash of the schedules of the political parties.
A new date is expected to be communicated soon.
It has the theme: “Strengthening Ghana’s democratic stability, peace and unity”.
The second meeting is also intended to promote the adoption of a road map to sustain post-election political dialogue and consensus on strategic reforms.
