A thief dressed like a priest has been arrested for stealing instruments from the Pentecost Church at Hemang in the Atwima-Kwahoman District of the Ashanti Region.
Presiding Elder of the church, Opoku Sarkodie who revealed this to Adom News said the robber unlawfully entered the church when the church had just closed from a convention Tuesday dawn.
He said the suspect stole musical instruments, three amplifiers, two microphones and one double equalizer valued at GH¢ 10,000.
Elder Sarkodie indicated that the taxi driver who picked the suspected robber by the road side was told by the robber that he is the pastor at the Pentecost church and was only conveying the instruments to another location.
“When we closed from the convention, this fake pastor broke into the church and stole so many things in the church.
“The suspect who boarded a taxi after stealing the instruments lied to the driver that he is actually the pastor and wanted to convey the things to the other church but was later arrested upon a tip off” he stated.
Elder Sarkodie says the fake pastor has been arrested but the instruments have still not been found.
The police have begun investigations into the matter.
