Papaye Fast Foods Limited is poised to take up a leadership role in the Fast Food Industry, and also become a first class food factory of international repute. Mr Divine Kwadwo Asiedu, Chief Executive Officer, disclosed this at the opening of a new branch of the company at Tema.
This brings to four the number of branches so far opened in the country. The other three are at the Spintex Road, Osu and Apenkwa-Tesano.
Mr Asiedu said the opening of the branch was in response to the government’s call on the private sector to bridge the unemployment gap, and also create an enabling environment for tourism
‘It is also in response to the numerous calls received from the people of the vicinity to bring papaye closer to them’ he said, adding that the branch now employs about 60 workers not to mention the employment it brings to those who supply us our inputs.
Mr Asiedu said the company was expanding not only in the opening of branches but also in its menu.
“Papaye’s original menu of Fried Rice and Chicken has seen additions such as Fried Chips and Chicken ,Fried Rice and Fish, Roasted Full Chicken, Sandwich, Beef Burger and lately the introduction of Ice Cream and Mini pack size of Rice and Potato with Chicken, he said.
The Chief Executive Officer disclosed that the company as part of its corporate social responsibility, rewarded and refreshed about 1,000 pupils of private and public Basic Schools in the Greater-Accra Region last month.
He said the company had been adjudged to be a good corporate citizen over the past two decades and had won many awards, including ‘The Best Fast Foods Restaurant in Ghana and The Best in terms of paying the statutory one percent tourism levy, by National Tourism Awards,
Mr Asiedu expressed the hope that the company would as usual pursue the highest quality standards in its operations, and strive to deliver the highest quality products and services to consumers at all times.
Mr Isaac Odamten, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, said the success story of the company was a book all must read.
He said the company established 25 years ago, was a fast-growing food joint, feeding many people and also creating employment for many people.
Mr Odamten said government would create an enabling environment for private businesses to grow.
Mr Ransford Tetteh, Editor of Daily Graphic, commended the company for the impact it was making in the industry.
