Thousands of party faithful and sympathisers of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), on Sunday turned out to partake in a weekly keep fit walk.
The walk saw party bigwigs including Gender Minister Nana Oye Lithur, brother of the President, Ibrahim Mahama, the Parliamentary Candidate for the Ashaiman Constituency Ernest Norgbey among others.
The three and half hour walk begun at the forecourt of the NDC party office at the central business area.
They walked through the Ashaiman market road, through to the Presby junction and some principal streets of Ashaiman, and ended at the Nii Amui Park at Ashaiman Valco flat.
Addressing the particpants after the walk, the Brother to the President and business mogul, Ibrahim Mahama, admonished the people of Ashaiman to vote massively for the NDC for continuous development.
“I will urge you all to vote massively for the NDC so that many projects can be undertaken in Ashaiman. I can assure you that all your roads would be fixed by His Excellency John Mahama because he has Ashaiman at heart”
The Parliamentary Candidate for Ashaiman, Ernest Norgbey, also appealed to the people not to relent in their efforts at campaigning.
“I want to appeal to all of you to continue to campaign to those who are yet to see the NDC light. We have to make sure that the elections are won overwhelmingly in Ashaiman to enable us give to President Mahama the 85 thousand votes promised”
He said the people of Ashaiman cannot afford to disappoint the President due to the Mahama magic, currently being experienced in the constituency.
“As we speak, there is a current wind blowing in Ashaiman called the Mahama magic. You go to sleep at night and by morning, you wake up and your roads are being asphalted. This magic can only be done by our President”
Mr. Norgbey continued that, the NDC and President Mahama has done a lot for the people of Ashaiman; and it is about time the people of the constituency show the President some appreciation by voting massively for him.
