CONTROVERSIAL man of God and a seer, who is the Head Pastor of International God’s Way Church, Rev. Isaac Owusu Bimpah, has described gospel musicians married to pastors as the “most wicked and unfaithful women” in the country.
According to Rev. Owusu Bempah, the lifestyles and characters of some female gospel musicians have seen many men of God wailing within themselves everyday which has resulted in either collapse of their ministries or losing most of their members to other churches.
“Many female gospel musicians have bad characters. They should repent,” he told host of Peace FM Entertainment Review programme last Saturday.
He explained that most often than not when these gospel musicians do something bad against their husbands and their marriages collapse, people turn to accuse the pastors of infidelity.
Rev. Owusu Bempah recounted how a pastor friend caught his wedded wife (gospel musician) in a hotel with her producer even though she had informed him (her husband) that she was going to visit her sick father in the village.
“What many pastors refused to understand is that lot of female musicians have bad characters. Some sing with the intention of getting married to a pastor. A lot of Ghanaians are of the belief that every divorce is the fault of the man. I challenged them to check from the courts and they will be surprised to know that these gospel musicians whose marriages have ended on rocks were caused by the women who often demand for divorce.”
He alleged that many of these female gospel musicians though married, date their producers and other philanthropists, who in one way or the other invest in the production of their music.
He however, admitted that some pastors also refuse to spend much time with their wives but rather ample time with their church members.
“If you are a pastor and you spend more time with your church than your family it’s not good. You must have time with your spouse. This is not how God ordained it. Priesthood is a call in the same way as being married to a pastor.”
Rev. Bempah had some words of advice for gospel musicians who are married to pastors: “Trust your husband and be mindful he is doing the work of God. And support them with prayers, because nobody is perfect. There are temptations but with your prayers everything will be okay.”
He also cautioned up and coming pastors who want to marry gospel musicians not to look at only the good voice that they may have or their body looks but rather look for people who can help them with prayers and support their ministries.
