Former parliamentary candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Nadowli Kaleo Constituency has pooh-poohed suggestion that the party doesn’t have a manifesto for upcoming 2016 election.
Dr Robinson Boye Bandie stated that the party does not need to go far to look for manifesto when communities in the country have shared their frustrations with the government by writing their challenges they go through at the entrance of the communities.
“I have seen somewhere people have written no water, no vote; no electricity no vote and no road no vote. People are talking about a manifesto; is there a manifesto more than this. That is our manifesto. Every village has its manifesto and that is what we as NPP are going to work with,” he said.
He said the party is going to use the concerns of these communities and campaign on that.
Dr Bandie made the statement during the inauguration of zonal committees of the party in the Nadowli Kaleo Constituency.
Joy News’ Rafiq Salam reports that Elvis Banoemuleng Botah, 27, has taken over the mantle from Dr Boye Bandie to lead the NPP in the December 2016 general election in the Nadowli Kaleo Constituency after the latter stepped down for medical reasons.
Since taken over the mantle, Mr Banoemuleng has been mapping out campaign strategies to help him put an end to the 24-year reign in parliament of the Majority Leader and Member of Parliament (MP) for the area, Alban Sumaana Kingsford Bagbin.
“It is only an Akuffo administration that will revamp the agric sector. It is only Akufo administration that will bring back home to the people in the constituency and the country as a whole,” he said.
Key among them being the zoning of the constituency into six parts for them to have easy access to the electorates in all parts of the constituency.
Addressing campaign coordinators and members of the six zones, Mr Banoemuleng chastised the governing NDC for presiding over what he called immeasurable corruption and also unleashing hardship to Ghanaians.
He called on Ghanaians to vote massively for the NPP to salvage them from the hardship they are wallowing in.
