President John Dramani Mahama says the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has praised his government’s work in the Ashanti region.
“I was with Otumfuo yesterday to pay my respects to him on a courtesy visit and he received us very warmly and he actually said that we had done a lot of work in Ashanti but then we should learn to tell our story to let people know what we’ve done,” President Mahama said in an interview on Garden City Radio in Kumasi.
The President is in the Ashanti region on a four-day tour. According to him, Otumfuo’s advice was a very good one adding that “so everywhere I’ve gone, I’ve actually pointed to the good works we have done.”
Mr. Mahama, who has already stated that the NDC will win 13 parliamentary seats in the Ashanti region described his tour of the region as a very wonderful one.
The president said “we are seeing more enthusiasm, we are seeing more commitment, we are seeing a better turnout this year than we did in 2012 and, so, it makes me very confident that we are going to increase our numbers in Ashanti.”
