Following agitation by some stakeholders over the involvement of Nigerian celebrities in Ghana politics, one of the mentioned names -Nkem Owoh popularly known as Osuofia, has spoken out to clear the air. In an interview with Joy News, Nkem Owoh disclosed that the reason behind his support of the President was due to the evident achievements he saw when he came into the country.

Osuofia who said he has been in Ghana before, stated he was marveled at the tremendous improvement in infrastructural development. He stated that the improvements were so evident that he could not recognize the city -hence his appraisal of President Mahama’s achievements.
I was in Ghana before, but when I came back now, I was telling my friend that he hasn’t brought me to this part of Ghana and he said, it’s the same place just that the development of Ghana by Prez Mahama is just commendable, he said.

Mr. Nkem Owoh’s comments come on the back of recent outburst of agitations by some political stakeholders, regarding the allowance of Nigerian celebs in Ghana’s political campaigns. A lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Dr. Amoako Baah, described such foreign involvements, as an insult to the Ghanaian government.
Apart from Nkem Owoh, Nigerian actor Hanks Anuku, was reportedly spotted campaigning for the NPP. Also Nigerian businessman, Dele Momodu has reportedly been calling for support for the President .
But Dr Amoako who spoke on radio Universe, bemoaned the campaign by the foreigners. Describing it as degrading, the lecturer said that no foreign individual, has the right to tell Ghanaians whom to vote for in an election.
