Deputy General Secretary of National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho has described the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) as ‘Antichrist” for launching its party manifesto on a Sunday.
According to him, the move will prevent many Christians who are members of the party from going to church to worship God.
Koku Anyidoho, who made the comment while addressing party supporters at Ashaiman, claimed, the opposition party is championing the work of the devil for choosing Sunday for its manifesto launch.
Supporters of the NPP have thronged the Ghana International Trade Fair Centre for the launch of the party’s manifesto ahead of the December polls.
Ahead of the launch, a closed door stakeholder briefing of the manifesto to Civil Society and Identifiable Groups, Embassies and Diplomatic Missions and Political Parties took place at the Unique Events Palace, to be followed by a rally attended by thousands of party faithful.
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor is expected to chair the function which would be attended by founding fathers of the party and former Ministers.
But Koku Anyidoho maintained that only sinners would choose a holy day like Sunday to present its manifesto to the citizenry.
“They are going to Trade fair to sin. The party has nothing better in their manifesto. That manifesto is the devil’s manifesto,” he reiterated.
