Six persons have been arrested by the New Abirim Police in the Eastern region over the death of a 24-year-old man who was shot dead during a hunting expedition on Sunday.
The suspects are currently on remand and are expected to appear before court on September 15, 2016.
Information gathered by Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent, Kojo Ansah, indicates that the deceased, together with the suspects went for a hunting expedition but was mistaken as a game and shot in the abdomen by his colleagues.
The suspects quickly rushed their colleague to the Hospital but he was pronounced dead upon arrival
The incident was later reported to the Police leading to the arrest of the six.
According to the Police at Abirim District Police Station, the suspects have been arrested and are on remand.
“We are investigating a case of Murder, Court has remanded them,” the station Officer told Starr News’ Kojo Ansah
Meanwhile, the police are being accused of dilly dallying with case and extorting monies from the families of the suspects to free them.
But the police branded the accusations as untruth explaining that the police will never take bribe to free the suspects.
