Barely a month after he was honoured with a proclamation and the key to Cincinnati State by Mayor John Cranley, Ghanaian hip life artist Kwame Kwame Nsiah Apau popularly called Okyeame Kwame will headline a concert on February.
The concert which comes off February ending is in commemoration of the black history month.
The ‘Rap Doctor’ would be performing with popular Jamaican reggae artiste Sizzla Kalonji.
An opportunity for the duo to launch an upcoming track they have together.
In an interview with Naa Klordey Odonkor host of Ultimate Brunch and Lunch, Okyeame Kwame explained that the concert is aimed at displaying the rich history of Africa in boosting the self worth of the African- American.
‘You know that I have done a song with Sizzla Kalonji. So we are going to do the launch of the song and link it to an Okyeame Kwame-Sizzla Concert in Cincinnati and there is also a big possibility that the versatile show would be going along with this very programme. So we are arranging that we do an amazing play called “Mansa Musa the King in You”.
We want to show black Americans especially and Africans in the diaspora that our history is much richer than the history they tell them. And that they come from a place. They come from the Osei Tutu’s, Mansa Musas, Sundiatas and the Pharoahs.
We want to show them how these families and empires used to behave. And that they built cities and understood chemistry and physics.
And with self worth all these black life matter and all these things would really go down because they would show the world the true quality of who they are without having to fight for it,’ he said.
The concert would also include a stage play centred on ancient rich West African King Mansa Musa of the Mali Empire.
