Deputy Minister for Education, Tertiary, and MP for North Tongue, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced amassing 97% of the voter population in North Tongu constituency for President John Dramani Mahama.
He believes the 97% votes together with other votes in other constituencies across the country will help President Mahama retain political power for the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He told Kasapafmonline.com on the sidelines of the launch of his campaign on Sunday at Mepe in the North Tongu constituency that the 97% target is achievable looking at the projects and programs he together with the President has initiated over the last four years. He is very optimistic that the work the NDC has done in the country will surely be rewarded by the people.
“A lot of priority roads have been constructed across the constituency. We have also built a lot of CHPS compound to take care of the health of the people in communities where there are no hospitals. Education has seen a massive improvement ever since I became the MP for the area. I have been able to ensure that 80 trained teachers are posted to the constituency.
At first we used to lack trained teachers because nobody was prepares to come and teach here. These together with some other projects are impacting on the lives of the people and I strongly believe 97% of the people will vote for President Mahama and the NDC come December 7”, he noted.
He said in the 2012 elections, he amassed 93% votes in the area for the NDC but stressed that 2016 will be a different story.
