Hiplife musician Okomfo Kwadee says dancehall artistes Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale are the only two Ghanaian artistes currently promoting Ghana’s culture to the world.
The two are currently Ghana’s leading dancehall artistes and have been making waves across the globe with some spectacular hits.
Kwadee, whose real name is Jerry Anaba and a native of Navrongo in the Upper East Region, is known for his story-telling style of rendition and unique lyrics.
He went off the scene for a couple of years due to alleged mental ailment but bounced back in 2012 with an album titled .
Speaking to Happy FM’s Dr. Cann on Saturday, Kwadee listed #BhimNation’s Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale as his two top Ghanaian artistes promoting the culture of Ghana to the world.
“Speaking about international scene, I will mention Stonebwoy,” he said.
“He is lifting the flag of Ghana and Shatta Wale is also doing the same which brings excitement into the system now.
“All what they are doing is cool but I also want to hear music where the older generation can listen to when they are thinking.”
According to him, he likes to listen to songs with words that can draw attention to issues Ghana is facing.
“If you write a song and it doesn’t correspond to the issues Ghana is facing, then I will assume you are deviating.
“Right now Stonebwoy is hard and Shatta Wale is hard too”.
He, however, said he wishes Obrafour, Obour and the rest will return to the beginning where the Ghanaian culture was evident in music.
Okomfo Kwadee will be performing alongside Shatta Wale on Saturday at the 2016 RTP Awards.
