Followers of the controversial Founder of the International God’s Way Church, Bishop Daniel Obinim are alleging that sick persons brought to his church for him to heal are dying in the wake of his arrest.
According to the hundreds of his church members who massed up at the Nima Police Station in Accra demanding the release of their Founder, two sick people have already died in church on Tuesday while several others are on the verge of death as the man of God is not around to heal them.
Bishop Obinim who’s known to have healing powers and has done a lot of miracles albeit sometimes described as fake by a section of the public, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly defrauding a gold dealer to the sum of GHS11.6million and was detained over night in the Police cells after being transferred from Tema to the Accra Police headquarters for questioning.
He’s being charged for defrauding under false pretense.
Meanwhile, Bishop Obinim has said he knows nothing about the alleged GHS11.6 million gold fraud.
Lawyer for Obinim, Samuel Atta Akyea told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM Wednesday in an interview that his client had denied defrauding the complainant in question by false pretense as being alleged.
But supporters of Bishop Obinim whom stayed at the Nima Police Station all night and have vowed to remain there until their spiritual father is released have said the country will record the death of several sick persons if Bishop Obinim is not discharged.
“The arrest of Obinim is born out of jealousy… this pure hatred against him just because he’s being used mightily by God to perform wonders in Ghana. Just yesterday two sick people brought to church to be healed died because Bishop Obinim has been arrested. Several sick people will die if he’s not released immediately,” the members said.
