The Communications Director of the Hare Krishna Movement in Ghana, Jnana Chaksus Das says though Bishop Daniel Obinim is powerful, he cannot be compared to an Angel.
According to him, Angels in the Bible lived faithful and righteous lives and do not find such traits in the founder and leader of International Godsway Church.
“Sometimes I find it hard to understand why some people especially his followers should describe Obinim as an Angel. What did he do to be given such a name? I know he is powerful but can never be an Angel” he told Adom News Kofi Adomah on Kofi TV.
Chaksus Das was reacting to a video which went viral last month showing the Man of God flogging two members of his church for fornication.
The controversial man of God made headlines after has been battling a fraud case few hours after he reported to the Tema police on Tuesday to help investigate circumstances leading to the flogging of the two church members.
The police said the pastor popularly called “angel” by his congregation allegedly defrauded a man in a GHS11.6 million gold business scam.
He was transferred to the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Accra for a brief interrogation but was later sent to the Nima police station where he spent two nights.
Bishop Obinim said he was framed up in the GH¢11.6 million fraud allegation that led to his arrest.
The Man of God after the incident led his congregants to lift up a prayer to God to expose persons who are behind the alleged fraud case which led to his imprisonment.
However, Chaksus Das believes Bishop Obinim’s conduct does not depict what he termed as ‘a real man of God’ therefore calling on Ghanaians to stop referring him as an “angel”.
“If you claim to be a man of God, then you need to be truthful to yourself but that is not what he (Obinim) is showing to Ghanaians.
“I can’t judge him because I know there are so many things he is doing for his people but he even knows that he is not an Angel. You don’t even have wings to fly so why should you continue deceiving us” he quizzed.
