President of the Ghana Weightlifting Association of Ghana, Mr Ben Nunoo Mensah is set to lead the Ghana Olympic Committee after beating incumbent President Prof. Francis Dodoo to end his six year reign in office.
Mr .Nunoo Mensah polled 33 votes to beat Professor Dodoo who managed to secure 23 votes in a keenly contested elections observed by President of the Ugandan Swimming Federation, Dr. Donald Rukare.
With only 61 delegates lining up to vote at the Alisa Hotel in Accra yesterday, Richard Akporkavi maintained his seat as Secretary General after polling 36 votes as against 26 votes polled by President of the Ghana Cycling Association, Mohammed Sahnoon.
The 1st vice president role saw Paul Atchoe of the Ghana Volleyball Federation (GVF) winning with 32 votes against incumbent Deborah Cubagee who polled 29 votes while Michael Nunoo won against Emmanuel Gidisu Tetteh with 32 to claim the 2nd vice president position.
Evans Yeboah also polled 44 votes to win the position of the 3rd Vice President after battling it out with George Lamptey.
