The new management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) has with immediate effect withdrawn the appointment of staff employed in the final months of the Dr Michael Kpessa-Whyte.
“The decision has been informed by a thorough consideration of violations of due process prior to the recruitment,” a statement released by the recently appointed Executive Director, Mustapha Ussif, said.
According to the statement on Wednesday, a petition was sent to the Public Services Commission (PSC) regarding the infractions by the former Acting Executive Director in his appointments.
In a letter dated November 16, 2016, the Commission is said to have advised Dr Whyte Kpessa to halt the recruitment process.
“This was however ignored and appointment letters were issued to some persons on 15th December, 2016.
“Management therefore wishes to advise persons affected by this decision to look forward to a new opportunity to have the staff recruitment properly carried out.”
