The Director of Elections for the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Martin Agyei Mensah Korsah says the party is ready to officially launch it ‘Manifesto of Solutions’ coming Sunday at the Trade Fair Centre, La Accra.
According to him, under no circumstance can their manifesto which is yet to be launched leak.
Some members of the party have accused the presidential candidate of the All People’s Congress (APC) Dr. Hassan Ayariga of stealing it ideas.
Ayariga launched his party’s 2016 manifesto on Thursday, 6 October, at the Aviation Social Centre in Accra. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will be launching its document on Sunday, 9 October.
In a statement, the NPP said “It has been revealed that the APC flagbearer replicated what Melania Trump did to Michelle Obama by copying word-for-word from policy statements outlined by the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
“One such policy statement, which Hassan Ayariga, copied from was the speech delivered by Nana Akufo-Addo at the 56th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Ghana Employers’ Association (GEA), at the International Conference Centre, Accra, on Thursday, September 8, 2016,” the NPP statement said.
Mr. Agyei Mensah Korsah commenting on the issue said he wouldn’t waste his time on the APC and it’s candidate because, he [Ayariga] had the opportunity to contest because President Mahama is wasting state resources on him.
He posited that, although the NPP was yet to launch the manifesto, they have given highlights of their document on their campaign tours across the country and that was how, some of the political parties including the APC and NDC have copied them. President Mahama he stressed is taking Ghanaians for granted by wasting our resources on mediocre persons.
He however added that, the NPP’s manifesto has not leaked as some may claim. ”I will blame President Mahama for all these ‘comedy of errors’.
He is wasting state resources on some political parties to joke with Ghanaians.
He [President Mahama] do not take us serious. If President Mahama had not sponsored him [Ayariga,], how could he have filed? In which country will these nonsense be encouraged…I don’t think our manifesto leaked because we’ve made bold policy statements and they are in the public domain.
