The former First Lady, Lordina Mahama says attempts to ridicule her husband John Mahama over his request to keep the Cantonments bungalow will fail.
The former President has come under intense pressure after he requested to keep his state bungalow as part of his retirement package.
The request by the former president was contrary to the approved recommendations set by the Prof. Dora Francisca Edu- Buandoh committee on Emoluments and Conditions of Service for Article 71 office holders, which only prescribes the payment of 40% of the retiring President’s salary to him to cater for his rent.
The former President on Wednesday withdrew his request in a letter to President Akufo-Addo stating that his decision is motivated by the will to maintain the cordial relationship that had existed during and after the transition.
However, in a Twitter post Wednesday, the former first lady said her husband was a man of integrity and principle and attempts to denigrate him will fail.
“This too shall pass. Their efforts shall fall flat because you are a man of integrity & principle. They shall be put to shame by #MahamaLegacy,” she tweeted.
