There have been some increasing rampages across the country involving members and supporters of the New Patriotic Party over the just ended elections.
Some youth have instigated violence on party opponents and vandalisation and seizure of state and private properties since the declaration of the 2016 election results that made Akufo-Addo 5th President of the Republic of Ghana.
Most of the vandals are said to be NPP youth supporters claiming that “their government is in power hence have the right to destroy state property”.
However, it is not the first time witnessing such appauling and abysmal actions where supporters of a winning party in the wake of an election embark on such campaigns showing apathy towards state properties.
According to Nana Kwao Ansah IV, “it has been some sort of a trend”.
The Police Force have adressed the situation saying “Crimes do not have political party colour so, any act perpetrated in political garb will be stripped of political apparel and be dealt with as crime.”
