The National Youth Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Sammy Awuku, has asked the youth of the party to exercise patience in their expectation for jobs in the formal sector.
He advised that while they expected jobs in the formal sector, they should also explore “youth-friendly” opportunities created by the government to initiate private schemes for themselves.
Interventions
He said the reduction of prices on fertiliser, business start-up interventions and allied programmes, especially on agriculture, should motivate them to take the bull by the horns.
He said the incident in Kumasi where a reactionary group within the NPP attacked the regional security coordinator and afterwards invaded a court and freed some suspects was most unfortunate and embarrassing, adding that some media- friendly organisations had described them as vigilantes, while they were actually not.
Mr Awuku, who was addressing regional youth coordinators from the Volta Region in Ho last Tuesday, said the propaganda on the Delta Force had been swallowed up and washed away by the excesses of some youth groups, adding that although the government had started implementing some positive interventions, they remained apparently insignificant because of the rumpus in Kumasi.
No Rambo forces in Volta
Mr Awuku declared that there was no reactionary group within the NPP known as the Rambo Forces in the Volta Region, adding that; “Rambo group does not exist and should not try to exist,” saying some opponents of the NPP were trying to create an artificial impression on the existence of the group in the region.
‘’They are day-old chicks who are struggling to enter a hole,” he alluded to the so-called Rambo Forces.
He asked the youth to consider themselves as the pillars of the party and said new policies being rolled out would eventually benefit them, adding; “A new day of hope has begun after eight years of hardship.”
