The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has settled on Sunday, October 9 as date on which to launch its 2016 manifesto.
Tagged as one to proffer solutions to “the myriad of problems facing the country”, the manifesto will be launched at the forecourt of the Accra International Trade Fair Center in Accra.
“The manifesto launch will be followed later in the afternoon by a major political rally, which will be opened to all supporters and members of the general public,” a statement issued by the party on Monday, October 3 said.
The launch will also be preceded by a stakeholder briefing to civil society, embassies and diplomatic missions as well as political parties.
The launch proper will be presided over by Former President John Agyekum Kufuor, whom the statement describes as “Ghana’s most successful democratic leader”.
The party’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his running mate, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, will lead the top rank party members at the latter events.
The party is seeking to regain power from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) after losing it in 2008.
