Thugs of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have taken their insanity to Saudi Arabia where they broke into the offices of the Ambassador, Alhaji Said Sinare, in Riyadh for reasons not too clear to fathom.
Radio Gold sources in Riyadh revealed that the attack on the embassy was collaborated by insiders who are known to be sympathisers of the NPP.
The source said the incident happened on Friday 9th , Dec 2016 , after the Electoral Commission declared the results in favor of Nana Akufo Addo.
It was not clear at the time of going to press what collateral damage they might have caused nor what documents they might have made away with.
It will be recalled that supporters of the NPP went beserk, after the EC boss Mrs. Charlotte Osei declared the results of the Presidential elections attacking supporters of the NDC, beating and killing some while destroying properties perceived to belong to members of the NDC.
The NPP goons, where seen burning toll booths, taken over toilets and locking up of offices especially the NADMO, all in a quest to prove that Nana Addo has taken over as President.
The incident happened at a time when the ambassador, is in Ghana for electoral purposes.
The source at the embassy said, “I am not sure they found anything substantial. It is obvious they came looking for documents for reasons I couldn’t tell but they got nothing.”
When the ambassador was contacted in his Labone base in Accra, he expressed shock and dissapointment at the news describing it as much ado about nothing.
Though the transition and the swearing in are not done with, some elements of the party have vowed to deal with appointees of the erstwhile President Mahama administration in very crude methods.
Ambassador Said Sinare who doubles as a vice chairman of the NDC said “if they needed any document to which hunt me with then am sorry. What they did sends bad signal to the international community especially, the exhibition of intolerance and political vendetta they want to pursue.”
He pointed out that he would be flying to Riyadh to pack his stuff and come back to help the NDC, reorganize and recapture power in 2020.
