Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur has taken a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), saying the message of change is not uncommon with opposition parties.
He said since opposition parties the world over cannot ride on any other convincing message to clinch power, that of change comes handy.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur, however, said the message of change being preached by Ghana’s largest opposition is a threat to Ghanaians.
“They are threatening the people of Ghana with ‘Change is Coming’.”
The vice president, who is the running mate of President John Dramani Mahama, expressed these on Sunday, August 14, when he joined party faithfuls at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium during the launch of National Democratic Congress’ 2016 campaign.
Many party bigwigs including the founder were at the venue to launch the campaign.
Mr Amissah-Arthur, who was joined on the podium by his ‘Number One Supporter’ Matilda Amissah-Arthur, said the change that is being talked about by the NPP is already happening.
“So, why change when change is already happening.” He touted the change that is taking place under the John Mahama-led government as one that transforms and changes lives.
Vice President Amissah-Arthur, therefore, called on the supporters to give President Mahama a second chance, expressing the belief that things will get better after 2016.
