NPP Rules Out Sabotage In ferry Holdup In Volta Region

The Volta Regional branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has explained that the holding up of the NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and his campaign team for almost three hours on the banks of the River Oti in Dambai was not a sabotage but a mere accident.

The NPP Regional Secretary, Markafui Kofi Wanya, who was part of the campaign team says there was nothing like a sabotage in what happened since it was realized that the  a truck carrying tubers of yam was stuck on the ferry that was to transport him.

The NPP flagbearer, Nana Akufo-Addo and campaign team on their day two tour of the Volta Region was held up Tuesday for about three hours on the banks of the River Oti in Dambai, which some are reading sabotage into it.

Nana Akufo-Addo was crossing the Oti River to Krachi Nchumuru on Tuesday when it emerged that a truck carrying tubers of yam was stuck on the ferry that was to transport him and his campaign team.

The captain of the ferry and his team, together with some NPP youth around took about three hours to move the truck off the boat to enable Nana Akufo-Addo and his team to get onboard.

The NPP Regional Secretary, Markafui Kofi Wanya told Onua FM’s Ghana Dadwene that they were able to successfully resume the tour to that side of the Region.

He explained that the holdup could affect the schedule of the team but that will not deter them from campaigning.
