The scene of the accident on the Techiman- Sunyani road in the Brong Ahafo Region
Two people are reportedly dead and several others injured when a Toyota Highlander vehicle crashed into an Urvan passenger bus on the Techiman- Sunyani road in the Brong Ahafo Region.
The 2016 New Patriotic Party parliamentary candidate for Kintampo South constituency, Alexander Gyan who was driving the Toyota Highlander vehicle together with ten others are said to be in a critical condition.
Adom News’ Koofori Bossu Denkye who was at the scene reported that, the NPP candidate was travelling from Kintampo to Sunyani while the Urvan vehicle was travelling from Sunyani to Techiman.
According to him, the NPP parliamentary candidate was attempting to overtake the Urvan bus on a top speed when it somersaulted resulting in the fatal accident Thursday.
He said the NPP man, Mr. Gyan and ten others sustained minor injuries but two lost their lives.
The police, he said arrived at the scene immediately to help transport the injured to the Holy Family hospital in Sunyani
