The Member of Parliament (MP) for Asante Akim North constituency of the Ashanti Region, Kwadwo Baah Agyemang is alleging that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the area Andy Appiah Kubi, is promising alien Fulanis permanent stay in Agogo.
While observing that Fulanis remain a major security threat to residents of Agogo and surrounding communities, he disclosed that the candidate is going round promising them permanent residence in the area against all odds.
“The NPP candidate is encouraging the Fulanis to stay in Agogo just to solicit votes. He is going round and promising them a permanent settlement in the area”, he alleged.
According to him, persons who are opposed to his way of campaigning using the Fulanis are tagged as National Democratic Congress (NDC) members for which reason he has allegedly planted stories in the media to dent his image.
Kwadwo Baah Agyemang stated that ever since he lost the parliamentary primary, the candidate and his team have sidelined him and not involved him in activities that will inure to the benefit of the party in the constituency.
“They have neglected me ever since I lost the primaries. Because I love the party, bought my own Nissan Navara double cabin pick-up and have branded it with Nana Addo’s picture and inscribed on it ‘vote for Change’. The fact that the parliamentary candidate has sidelined me, I will not allow the party to lose. It’s not true I am campaigning for the NDC”, he rebutted on Abusua Nkomo hosted by Kwame Adinkra.
The lawmaker said he had information of Nana Addo’s recent on a whatsapp group when he as the incumbent MP was supposed to be given prior notice before any other person wondering if this is not a deliberate agenda by the candidate to sideline him.
He accused Lawyer Andy Appiah Kubi of nursing divisions in the party since the days of the late Dr Kwadwo Baah Wiredu and sponsoring independent parliamentary candidates against the party’s candidates.
