Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Solomon Nkansah has called on the Akufo-Addo administration to solicit the help of ‘energy experts’ within the NDC to help solve the power crisis, known as ‘Dumsor’.
These ‘NDC energy experts’, he said can help the new administration solve the crisis since they already have the track record as persons who fully ended Dumsor when Mahama was in power.
‘NPP should let us know what is going on. All they know is to lie to us and make a mockery of people. Why can’t you solve the dumsor. All we need from them is to consult us for us to release our experts to them to help them fix it,” he said.
Solomon Nkansah’s comment was in reaction to claims by Ashanti Regional Chairman of New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly called ‘Chairman Wontumi’ that some officials of power distribution company, ECG were trying to sabotage the government with its continuous power cuts in the region.
According to him, ECG is attempting to make the government unpopular in its strong hold. He claimed that the power outages in the region are artificially created by management of ECG.
And these comments by Wontumi, Solomon Nkansah said is ‘baseless’ and ‘childish’ and hence advised the NPP to rather seek help from ‘NDC energy experts’ who he said are noted for working hard to end power crisis.
These experts, he said included former Power Minister, Kwabena Donkor, former Petroleum Minister, Armah Kofi Buah and several others.
