A Communications Officer of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), in the Akwatia constituency of the Eastern Region Francis K. Buah, has resigned from his position.
In a communication released he issued and signed on Monday, he disclosed that the resignation is in the interest of Akwatia Constituency and not to derail the trend of development in the district and particularly my town Buadua.
He has subsequently declared his support to the Deputy Minister for Employment and Labour Relations Baba Jamal.
“It is instructive to note that I have done a comparative analysis of all the three candidates who filled their nominations at the Electoral commission by the close of nominations, Hon. Baba Jamal for NDC, Madam Ama Sey for NPP and Madam Joice Sakyi for CPP. Let me admit that even though they all qualified to contest but Akwatia Constituency deserves the best. I have come to the conclusion that among the three the person who will give us effective and quality representation in Parliament is Hon. Baba Jamal”, he said.
Mr Buah called on all citizens of Akwatia Constituency not to vote for a candidate who will go and experiment in Parliament.
“It will be sad that at this time and age, Akwatia will send any intellectual liability to parliament. If Akwatia will continue to develop then we need tried and tested people.
Let me emphasize the fact that I am still a staunch member of the NPP and believe in the vision of Nana Akuffu Addo and I will continue to campaign for him to be President. But when it comes to the “MPship” I will encourage all voters in the constituency not to repeat the mistake of the past but to choose Hon. Baba Jamal to continue with his developmental agenda for the district.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the NPP party in Akwatia for the chance they gave me to serve this great party. I pray for their understanding to know that I took this important decision in the interest of the people of Akwatia Constituency”, he added.
