The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has declared election date, December 7th a ‘Kalyppo Day’.
Assin Central Member of Parliament, Kennedy Agyapong made this revelation while speaking on Accra-based Oman FM’s Boiling Point on Thursday.
According to him, the aim is to provide adequate food and water for the polling agents of the party during the polls.
This, he said is to avoid the situation where agents of the party are bribed by competing political parties.
“We have declared December 7th a ‘Kalyppo Day’, I have ordered large quantities of the drink and adequate food for my party agents… nobody will therefore have the chance to come and give them for them to abandon their posts, so they get the opportunity to rig…we going to take good care of them…,” He said.
The Legislator further added that the ‘Kalyppo Day’ is a part of a grand agenda to ensure that their agents are adequately taken care of on the election day.
The party in line with this grand agenda recently launched the ‘adopt a polling station’ plan which allows persons to adopt and take care of party personnel that would work at various polling stations.
