Some members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) will from today Wednesday start working at the Assin Praso Toll Booth.
The Assin Praso NPP constituency chairman, Bright Owusu Ansah who disclosed this to Adom News said the men will start operation at 12 noon Wednesday.
Reports available say some two weeks ago the NPP supporters forcibly took over the running of the toll booth in the area, when their party was declared winner of the December 7, polls.
The NPP supporters after taking over have also deserted the booth because they have ran out of the toll tickets.
This, according to the reports from the area has led to a free for all situations at the toll booth because there are no officers to ensure drivers pay the toll upon reaching the booth.
The reports available to Adom News has it that NPP supporters ransacked the toll booth and took over the operations of the booth for while only to abandoned it when they ran out of tickets.
The banes of the traders are that hitherto, the cars were stopping and hawkers took the opportunity to sell their wares to customers and passengers traveling from the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi and Accra aboard the buses plying the road.
The free for all situations is angering the trades because they seem to losing their livelihood.
The free for all situations arose when the supervisors of the Road Fund refused to hand over the remaining tickets to the marauding NPP supporters.
But Bright Owusu Ansah told Adom News the toll free issue started a week ago and is optimistic that by 12 noon Wednesday members of the NPP will resume work.
He said the police, Regional Commander and the Divisional Commander were rooting for the old workers to work but angry supporters resisted saying they will take over themselves.
