The Christian Council of Ghana has blamed the conduct of New Patriotic Party (NPP) vigilante group, Delta Force on big wigs in the party.
According to the General Secretary, Rev Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, some leaders in the party have consistently defended and endorsed the actions of the Delta Force, a situation which has emboldened them to carry out attacks.
He maintained that members of the group can never be wrong or right for the attack.
“We cannot blame these boys for the raid. Those we need to blame are the big men behind these boys. They buy food for them, they clothed them, they do everything for them and so they need to be blamed and not the members because they are only doing what their pay masters have ordered them to do,” he said on Adom FM’s Morning Show “Dwaso Nsem” Monday.
The angry members of the gang reportedly vandalised properties of the KMA court and almost assaulted the while 13 members of the groups were standing trial.
The 13 were on trial for assaulting the Ashanti regional security coordinator, George Agyei, who they said could not be allowed to serve in that capacity because he did not help in the campaign towards the NPP’s victory in 2016.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Morning Show, ‘Dwaso Nsem’ Monday, Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong expressed his deepest disappointment in the leadership of the NPP with regards to the lawless activities of the notorious Delta Forces in the country.
He therefore called on law enforcement agencies to deal with them and allow the law to take its course.
