President John Dramani Mahama has urged people of the Northern region to vote massively for the National Democratic Congress during the December elections since that region experiences more development under an NDC government.
Addressing party members at Zabzugu, during his tour of the Northern region, Mr. Mahama called on the electorates to retain his government to ensure they get more development during the next four years.
“Anytime we are in power the North sees more development. For instance President Rawlings ensured electricity got to us, people said we could not get it but he pushed for us to get it…this tells you that we can deliver for Ghanaians.”
President Mahama added that government is sourcing for funding to work on the Yendi-Tatale road as government of Ghana funding is not a good avenue for that.
Ghanaians go to the polls in December to elect a new President.
Mahama would be contesting his main challenger Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of the opposition New Patriotic Party.
The Progressive People’s Party’s Kwesi Nduom and Ivor Greenstreet of the Convention People’s Party are also fighting for the presidency.
Meanwhile, the regent of Yendi Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Andani has attributed the continuous rainfall in Yendi as a sign of victory for Mr. Mahama. He therefore prayed that Mahama is retained after the elections in December.
Naa Abdulai Andani also called on the youth not to allow politicians use them for their selfish gains.
