Ambrose Dery the Minister for the Interior has advised the members of the vigilante group Delta Force who raided the Kumasi Circuit Court and freed some 13 suspects on trail to report themselves to the police or they would be pursued.
He gave an assurance that, government will deal with the issue and ensure that those involved are arrested and prosecuted. Addressing the press Thursday, the Minister said, “We absolutely condemn the incident that took place in Kumasi.
We are going to make sure that law takes it course and that no one in Ghana is above the law.
The police are pursuing the 13 suspects, and I wish to make clear that we shall do all within our power to make sure that they are arrested and brought to face the law.
Let the message go out there to the 13 persons that it is in their interest to resubmit themselves to the due process and have their day in court, that the police will pursue them, But if need be, we shall involve all other security agencies as it may be necessary to make sure that they are brought to justice.”
He said the case got to court, it was within the ambit court but now that they have become fugitives of justice, they come again within our remit and we are pursuing them to arrest.”
He also condemn the incident and gave the assurance that the law will take its place and no one will be above the law. We shall do all in part and make sure that they are arrested and face the due process.”
