President Nana Akufo-Addo says he will not countenance lawlessness and acts of indiscipline, regardless of whoever is involved.
He warned that everybody would have to get right with the law and accept to resort to due processes to resolve their grievances.
The President categorically condemned the recent attack on the Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator by members of a vigilante group called Delta Forces which is aligned to the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He stated that people, who acted unlawfully must be ready to take responsibility for their actions, because they were not going to be protected.
President Akufo-Addo issued the warning, when he called on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at his Manhyia Palace at the start of his just-ended three-day visit to the region to thank the people for voting massively for him and the NPP.
Apology to Asanteman
He used the occasion to apologise on behalf of the leadership of the NPP to the chiefs and people for the pain and the inconvenience the said attack might have caused “Asanteman”.
Making life better for all
President Akufo-Addo reiterated the determination of the government to work hard, with much energy and great zeal, to turn things around to make life better for all.
Pledge to keep faith with the people
He pledged to keep faith with the people, be accountable and do everything to fulfil the party’s election promises.
“We will not disappoint Ghanaians. We are not going to betray the trust of our people”, he added.
He made reference to the free senior high school policy, reduction in taxes, strengthening the agricultural and health sectors alongside other social intervention programmes and said the expectations of the people would be met.
Otumfuo empahsises job creation
Otumfuo Osei Tutu urged the President to make job creation and fighting poverty an urgent national priority.
He also urged him to refuse to be distracted and to go the extra mile to hold the nation together.
Otumfuo counsel Ministers
The Asantehene counseled Ministers to ensure that the government’s policies were efficiently implemented to lift the people from poverty and transform their living conditions.

The President was accompanied by some Ministers of State including, Mr. Allan Kyeremateng, the Trade and Industry Minister, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, Food and Agriculture Minister, Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah, National Security Minister, Mr. Isaac Asiamah, Sports Minister, Mr. Ofori Asiamah, Transport Minister, and Madam Cecelia Abena Dapaah, Aviation Minister.
Also with him were Members of Parliament (MPs) from the region and national officers of the NPP.
