President John Dramani Mahama has said no President in the world will physically put cash in people’s pockets.
He however explained that, it is the duty of the president and government to create opportunities for its people to make money, adding that the ruling government has initiated several projects which are already putting money in people’s pockets.
Addressing party supporters at Kakasunanka Number One in the Kpone-Katamanso District on his second day tour of the Greater Accra Region, the President said, no president will line up people to offer them physical cash without doing any work and that the Bible even admonishes people to work hard and earn money to cater for their family.
“Don’t expect money to drop from the sky without any hard work. You need to take advantage of the opportunities created and make money yourself,” President Mahama advised the supporters.
He noted that the NPP leader and his running mate are going round promising what the NDC is already implementing.
He said the Youth Employment Agency and Youth Enterprise Fund have engaged about 40,000 youth to offer them skills and training to enable them set up their own businesses.
President Mahama once again advised his fellow contender, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo to unite his party before seeking the mandate of Ghanaians.
President Mahama said there was no way a man who had succeeded in dividing his party by vilifying and suspending people who criticize or question his leadership style, can assume the reins of this country.
The Member of Parliament for the area and Greater Accra Regional Minister, Joseph Nii Laryea Afotey Agbo, accused the running mate of the NPP, Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia of deliberately supervising the monumental change of the country’s currency for their selfish interests .
The president earlier visited Osuwem, Dodowa and Afienya where he promised to expedite processes on rehabilitating the deteriorating Dodowa-Afienya to Shai Hills, Asutsuare junction-Osuwem and Afienya-Dawhenya roads before rounding up his day two Greater Accra Regional tour at Kakasunanka No One.
