The Ghana Fire Service has denied reports that some lives were lost in a fire incident that occurred at a tanker yard at Ashaiman Sunday afternoon.
According to fire personnel, no one died, neither was anyone injured in the fire that took 11 fire tenders to control.
Deputy Chief Fire Officer in charge of Operations, William Mensah said “We have not seen a single casualty let alone deaths as people are reporting.

“There is no such death rate here, no casualties from the time we arrived until now that we have been able to put the fire under control,” he said.
He added that out of the 14 tankers involved in the blaze, only two were salvaged. He also said the fire took so long to control because of the content of the tankers.
William Mensah said the Service has begun investigations into the incident.
