Nkoransa Youth Association (NYA) has given their chief a seven-day ultimatum to account for an amount of GhC3.5 million Ghana cedis meant for the construction of Nkoransa chief’s palace.
Addressing the media in Nkoransa in the Brong Ahafo Region, President of the Nkoransa Youth Association, Nana Nyarko Ababio, said the Nkoransa Traditional Council was not performing its duty as expected.
Nana Nyarko Ababio as a result of that gave a seven-day ultimatum to the Nkoransa Traditional Council to account for the money meant for the construction of the palace.
“We made a contribution towards the construction of a new palace for the Nkoransa, we had Gh3.5million cedis, a native of Nkoransa based in Accra contributed Gh2 million cedis.
The youth also contributed various sums towards the project. Some elders in the community led by Nkoransa Nifahene, Nana Kwabena Tetteh have embezzled the money. We are given them a seven-day ultimatum to account for the money”, he said.
He said, they would demonstrate against the traditional council if they do not account for the money.
According to the youth, they were not happy with the Council for hiding the death of Omanhene of the Nkoransa Traditional Area, Okatakyie Agyemang Kodom V.
The youth therefore called on the traditional council to stick to the tradition and customs of the reduce the speculations.
