A twelve-year-old primary school pupil is assisting police with investigation that could lead to the arrest of her uncle and other suspects for dealing in narcotics.
Police in Nkawie in the Ashanti Region have however granted police inquiry bail to the pupil who was arrested last Tuesday among two persons for their engagement in illicit drug trade.
Nkawie District Police Commander, DSP Emmanuel Asiamah told mynewsgh.com that they arrested three persons during swoop to Kotokuom in the Atwima Nwabiagya district in connection to the illicit drug business.
Police upon a tip-off stormed the community arrested three after some of them managed to escape but have since declared five persons including the uncle of the pupil who now are at large wanted.
Speaking to reporter, the commander dispelled media reports that twenty people have been arrested urging the media to seek information from his outfit before going public.
“We managed to arrest three for now. But we are man hunting for the main dealer who is the cousin of one of the suspects granted bail “, he revealed
DSP Emmanuel Asiamah explained that no exhibits were found on those arrested hence the need to give them bail to assist in investigations that could lead to successful arrest and prosecution of those at large.
He also urged the public to volunteer information that could lead to successful arrest and prosecution of the escapee suspects
