Ladies and gentlemen of the press, we have called this meeting to dispel some of rumors, misconceptions and falsehood making rounds in the circles of the Nigerian High Commission, with regards to the purported dissolution of the Executives of the All Nigerian community Ghana.
On Friday November 4, 2016 there was rumor from the Nigerian High Commission purporting to have dissolved the Executive committee of the All Nigerian Community Ghana Headed by Moses Owharo.
Ladies and Gentlemen, it would interest you to know that the ANC-GH is a registered association in accordance to the law of Ghana and operates within the regulation of Association act of the Republic of Ghana, and therefore is free from any encumbrances and interference from any institution or third party. It is to this regard that we the executive of this noble body ANC-GHANA wish to condemn the recent claims from the Nigerian High Commission to the effect that it had dissolved the current executives and handed over to what it called an Caretaker committee, made up of a fictitious and unknown body called leaders of Nigerian Community.
\We wish to remind the leadership of the Nigerian High Commission in the of person Her Excellency deaconess Adekumbi Sonaike-Ayodeji to note that the ANC-GHANA as a sovereign and artificial human has it level of authority and modus of operation as enshrined in its constitution and as such the High Commission and or any member (s) of its staff do not have the legal right and authority to take such action on behalf of the ANC national congress which is the highest decision making organ of the Community in matters relating to dissolution of the executives as stipulated in article 110 of the ANC-GHANA constitution.
Ø Illegal and Partisan attitude of the Nigerian high commission: we the executives of ANC-GHANA also wish to address the acts of illegality which has been in pursuance by the Nigerian High Commission for over three (3) years now since the arrival of Mr Abraham poko to the Nigerian High Commission which has led to a continuous alliance with Mr Emmanuel Okeson to create illegal parallel Associations among Nigerian Communities (e.g.in the Igbo Community and the All Nigerian Community) for their parochial objectives of causing chaos and creating a semblance of crisis among the communities. This joint team has also refused that the associations account should be handed over to the executives, they have continued to disrupt the operations of the sitting executive through their continuous media propaganda and accusations which is unfounded, but however had acknowledged an illegitimate faction headed by Mr. Emmanuel Okeson which her excellency has continued to support, to the extent of calling for the activities of the ANC-GH to be handed over to a group that does not belong to the ANC-GH nor participate in their activities.
We want to reiterate that the ANC-GH has started processes leading to the election of a new Executives to the Community, we have open filing of nomination, aspirants had paid the fees and filed in their completed nomination forms, they had been vetted and given approval to contest their various positions, the electoral commission of Ghana had printed ballots for the election, a date for election had been set by the congress.
Ever since 2013 that I was inaugurated alongside other executives as the president we have work to complement the Nigerian high commission and promoted the good image of our country Nigerian with little or no support from the Nigerian High Commission. We have been helping Nigerians in Ghana in various ways.
What the ANC-GH had asked from the High Commission was the use of their premises for the conduct of election, which they originally approved but later withdrew after their crony Mr. Emmanuel Okeson had written a baseless petition.
We are committed to the peaceful, free and fair conduct of our elections and that we will do.
